We are packing to head to the airport. This afternoon we received Phoebe's visa to enter the US! This will be a crazy flight, with travel time over 30 hours! Wish us luck.
Jen and Bob are here in Hanoi. This morning they traveled to LangSon to meet their little ones! I can't wait to hear how the meeting went. I'll be passing Ed and Peggy's cell phone on to them--Amanda and Bill left it for us. Thank you Ed and Peggy, having the phone, especially for Father's Day was a real treasure.
I have mixed feelings about leaving. We are eager to get home, but we have loved our time in Hanoi and will miss it. We hope to return when Phoebe is old enough to enjoy and appreciate Vietnam.
Gotta Run--just talked to Jen and Bob and they had a great visit in LS.

In many ways it is much like where you have spent the first precious months of your already-remarkable life. It is a place where people gather and cavort in special spots, where a myriad of individual efforts to forge a living combine in a complex modern symphony of movement, sight and sound. It is full of the warmth of caring family and friends, and bursting with opportunity to touch the earth in awe in a million different ways as you grow through your childhood. You are lucky, PeeJay (do your parents cringe at that?!), in getting to journey with your new parents. They are unusually good stewards: of land, of our cousin creatures, and now of you. They demonstrate the dedication they bring to your ultimate welfare by their generous sharing of of these new and joyous moments with you. This sharing, this careful consideration of the things that will enrich your life, this sense of seeing and acting upon that which is essential, this ability to continue to look at the world we inhabit with fresh and discerning eyes will all be part of your adventure with them. So happy to hear you are on your way home. I felt the same way, happy to go home, but sad that this special time I had waited so long for was about to be completely behind me. I will say a prayer for a fast 30 hours to pass with a lot of sleeping on Phoebe's part.
